To counsel people in their healing journey, is an honor and a privilege. As an attachment based counselor, I understand the importance of connecting with my clients and providing a peaceful and emotionally safe environment where they can experience healing. Early attachments formed in childhood, current relationships and events can impact how we relate to others and how we respond either by distancing or seeking connection. When a person has had traumatic experiences, emotional vulnerability may be threatening and they may respond from primal emotions such as; fear, shame, anger, sadness and even rage. These emotions lead to behaviors that can drive the negative interactive cycle with others, leading to depression, anxiety and isolation. In therapy, clients learn about their attachment style, how this is impacting their ability to create emotional security with others and how these behaviors can be changed. My goal is to create a safe and secure connection with my clients to promote this healing process.
I am very passionate about helping couples in marriage and know the challenges that come with family life and raising children. Couples that face these challenges together can overcome their differences, with a willingness to change and a desire to open their hearts to love, forgiveness and new beginnings.
"Let love and faithfulness never leave you: bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart." Proverbs 3:4-6. KJV
